6063-T6 / 6063-T5
Aluminum 6063 is the most common extrusion alloy, offering excellent surface finish, good corrosion resistance, and 53% IACS electrical conductivity. In bus pipe applications, 6063-T6 is the standard alloy for Schedule 40 pipe because of its excellent balance of electrical and mechanical properties. It carries higher current than 6061-T6 at the same dimensions due to its 23% higher conductivity. 6063 is also the standard for architectural extrusions, window frames, and anodized trim.
